Renaming Initiative

Bronson Healthcare is undertaking an initiative to rename its walk-in care facilities across Southwest Michigan, aiming to simplify patient navigation.

In a recent announcement made Tuesday, health officials revealed that Bronson FastCare will now be branded as Bronson QuickCare, while Bronson Urgent Care will be re-designated as Bronson QuickCare Plus.

Improving Patient Understanding

The newly chosen names are intended to provide patients with clearer guidance regarding the type of care they can access at each location.

Lisa Padgett, the director of capacity management for Bronson Healthcare Group, stated, “Our goal was to help patients better understand their care options and provide more transparency about what to expect at each level of care.”

Service Descriptions

QuickCare is designed as a convenient alternative to traditional primary care visits. In contrast, QuickCare Plus offers a broader range of services, addressing urgent, non-life-threatening issues.

  • Patients with common illnesses should visit Bronson QuickCare.
  • For concerns such as stitches or broken bones, Bronson QuickCare Plus would be the appropriate choice.

While the services offered will remain unchanged, officials anticipate that these new designations will enhance access to the correct type of care.

Addressing Patient Needs

Padgett emphasized the importance of clarity, explaining, “We recognized that there is some need to better understand the levels of care and where to obtain that care. So, really, where do you go? What’s your best walk-in option? And we recognize that with the different locations, names, it was confusing. So, we listened to that feedback and wanted to help our patients understand how to make this easier for them to make that decision.”

Cost Transparency

Understanding costs is crucial for many patients. Officials believe that the new names will assist patients in grasping their potential bills based on the care received at the appropriate location.

Padgett indicated, “We want to do everything we can to help those patients understand their options and what to expect when they receive their bill. So, launching this advertising campaign, getting in what we’re looking, you’ll see more of is trying to educate on the different real life health scenarios and where to go to get that care.”
