Dax Shepard’s Podcast Reunion
Dax Shepard, the 50-year-old actor, recently welcomed his ex-girlfriend, Briegh Morrison, to a special segment of his podcast, Armchair Expert. This segment, named “Mom’s Car,” features Shepard driving guests around in a vehicle that belongs to his wife, Kristen Bell.
Reflections on Their Relationship
During the episode, Shepard and co-host Aaron Weakley delved into Shepard’s past relationship with Morrison, which lasted nine years and ended amicably.
Shepard recounted his feelings following their breakup, admitting, “The breakup was manageable, but I will say, for a while, I did think, ‘Well, I’ll never be in love with someone again in that way. I had a deep fear.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t think I’ll ever really feel the way I felt about Briegh with anybody.’ I was quite scared of that.”
Morrison’s Perspective
Morrison, on her part, reflected on the future she envisioned with Shepard, stating, “One of the hardest things about when we broke up was that I really had my head around we were gonna have kids; we had a house now, was gonna be this thing that I want. I was getting on in years.”
Morrison expressed her hopes for Shepard, adding, “I was just so hopeful that you would find someone that you loved a lot again.”
Shepard’s New Journey
Shepard did indeed find love again, marrying Kristen Bell in 2013 after dating since 2007. The couple now shares two daughters, Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10.
Maintaining Friendships
After their breakup, Morrison remained close to Shepard’s family. Shepard noted that Bell was initially surprised by his friendship with his ex but adapted over time. He recalled, “I think initially when Kristen and I started dating, you were still coming over a lot because my mom was living at my house. You were around even in like the first month or two we were dating.”
He remembered Bell saying, “This is really wild. I’m not friends with any of my exes. I don’t hang out with any.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m friends with all mine, pretty much.'” Shepard acknowledged that Bell eventually became comfortable with the situation, saying, “Over time, she got super comfortable with it and absolutely at ease with it.”
