According to a piece featured in the Wall Street Journal, titled “The Power Struggle Over Who Will Run NASA Is Turning Ugly,” Sean Duffy has expressed interest in restructuring NASA’s oversight.
During conversations with government officials over the summer, Duffy suggested that NASA could benefit from being integrated into the Department of Transportation (DOT).
“Sean said that NASA might benefit from being part of the Cabinet, maybe even within the Department of Transportation, but he’s never said he wants to keep the job himself,”
noted a spokesperson for NASA. It appears Duffy is contemplating enlarging his influence at the DOT by potentially absorbing NASA into its operations.
