Anthropic Secures $13 Billion Funding, Achieving $183 Billion Valuation

Anthropic, the AI startup renowned for its Claude product and a key contender against OpenAI, has made headlines following the completion of a substantial $13 billion funding round, leading to a notable post-money valuation of $183 billion.

In a recent press statement, the company highlighted its impressive growth trajectory, reporting that its run-rate revenue surged from approximately $1 billion to over $5 billion between early 2025 and August — a span of less than nine months. Anthropic has also expanded its corporate clientele, surpassing 300,000 business customers, with a remarkable sevenfold increase in its number of ‘large accounts,’ defined as those providing over $100,000 in run-rate revenue.

Claude Code Performance

A core revenue driver for Anthropic, Claude Code, has been particularly successful, generating more than $500 million in run-rate revenue. The company noted that usage of the product skyrocketed by over ten times in just three months following its full launch.

Funding Round Details

This Series F funding round was spearheaded by prominent investors including ICONIQ, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Other notable backers comprised the Qatar Investment Authority, TPG, Altimeter, Blackstone, and Coatue, among others.

Future Plans

Anthropic plans to utilize the new capital to address rising enterprise demand, enhance its safety research initiatives, and further its international expansion efforts.
